ALICE IN WONDERLAND BIRTHDAY - PART I

My two "Alice's" just before their party.

It has been a CRAZY around here, company for 3 weeks, 3 birthdays, Easter, and a bad cold.  We are slowly getting back on track...

This past Saturday we celebrated a belated 3rd birthday for Emma & Kate by hosting an Alice in Wonderland inspired party.

Inside

We started the party with a "Follow the White Rabbit Scavenger Hunt" since most of the guests are 3 we kept it pretty simple.  We hid a key, a bottle that said "Drink Me" a deck of cards, they looked for someone holding a tray of cakes that said "Eat Me", picked a white rose, and played croquet with the Queen to collected a giant Queen of Hearts card.  Each item had a specific color ribbon attached so that they had to match the ribbon to their bag.  It made the game alot more fun and it took them a bit longer to find everything.

"PAINTING THE ROSES RED"
One of their tasks was to each pick a white rose before the Queen sees them. I made TONS of crepe paper roses mostly red, some both white and red, and a few all white and stuck them in the bushes by the front door. They loved it!

Their final task was to play croquet with the queen.

Emma taking a little break from croquet.

After the hunt they came inside for the "Tea Party"

The banner reads "WONDERLAND"

I decorated hats for the boys and crowns for the girls using the same paper as the banner and invitations.  I am not a fan of all of the character themed decorations or their price.  I purchased a book of Amy Butler scrapbooking paper from Joann's (with a coupon of course) to make the banner, hats and invitations.  The lace tablecloth is actually plastic from Publix (looks surprisingly real)
and the blue tablecloth underneath is plastic.  The top hats were $1.99 each and everything else I already had.  I think everything together cost about $35.00.

Logan looking quite dapper waiting patiently for his tea.

One of the party guests getting her crown fitted, we punched a hole in
the back and secured each crown with a flower brad.

Birthday Girl Kate in her crown.  Each crown and hat has a
clock face, wish I would have gotten better pics of each one...

Let the tea party begin!

All in all it was a great party and I think everyone had a wonderful time.  We also had a "more adult friendly" table and menu that I will post later this week.

Best wishes,
Tammy
