SEARCHING FOR THE GREAT PUMPKIN!

This past Saturday we took a trip to the St. John's Lutheran Church Pumpkin Patch in Winter Park, FL. We had a great time, take a peek!

We are still recovering from trick-or-treats and all I really want to do is pack up Halloween and jump right into Christmas... I will exercise a bit of self control and try to wait two weeks before pulling out the trees!  In the meantime I will start wrapping gifts!

I finished a quilt!

Oh my goodness, I finally finished Emma's Alice in Wonderland Quilt!  It only took a year for a smallish lap quilt.  Non the less it is done!  I am off to wash it...hope it comes out in one piece...

Has it really been two years, five months?  I have missed you, my blogging friends!  I can't tell you how many times I have composed a post in my head...while in the shower, sitting in the car pool lane, at the store, lying in bed...  Anyway, I am back, I hope...my intention is to start posting this week, or next...

The last couple weeks I have been getting all of my gifts wrapped, slowly Decking my Halls, I am still tweaking my tree...this will go one until January 1st, and attempting to get our house ready to put on the market. More on that next week.

This year has been a crazy one...

Our family has decided to make some changes. Starting with selling our current home and moving into a smaller yet perfect home in a quaint older neighborhood close by. I am thrilled! Our current home is wonderful but too much house and not really me. I am ready to throw myself into a remodel filled with uncertainty and excitement! You see I have only seen the house from the outside. It is a lovely 2 story colonial surrounded by oak trees that I have admired for years. I was never sure if I believed in fate but am beginning to.

Do you belive in fate?

Nearly 3 years while driving around looking for our current house I spotted past a perfect house, a white 2-story colonial in an older neighborhood, surrounded by big trees. Not for sale. We ended up in a beautiful guard-gated planned communinty in a big house surrounded by palm trees. Not my ideal house, but beautiful and an opportunity that we just couldn't pass up.

Crazy thing is that I haven't even seen the inside. My husband did a couple years ago and through conversations with the owner I have little gathered clues. A center staircase when you enter the front door (yeah), a den with built-ins, carpet from the 60's (yikes), a fireplace, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a big master closet. We will work with what is there, re-doing and updating while keeping the integrity of the house in tact. Yes, I am dying to get inside, but all in good time. You see I am a planner, it is what drives me and keeps me awake at night pinning away on Pinterest... Maybe it all has to go, maybe just fresh paint, carpet and a little bit of love. I couldn't be more excited.

It is as if some greater force is pulling us down this new path. You see this house is our "forever" house. A home where we will be for the next 30-40 years. It just feels like home.

DECK THE HALLS FRIDAY - Time to trim the tree

It has been a crazy couple weeks...lots of orders (thank you!), Halloween, and my mom visiting.  Now that life is somewhat back to normal...I can't wait any longer...the tree comes out today!

 Welcome to Deck the Halls Friday!

What a week... 3 little ones home sick from school for the last 3 days.  Needless to say I got nothing done.  My plan was to spend the week crafting Christmas ornaments, instead I leave you with a pretty image I found on Pinterest this morning. (Ok, the week wasn't a total loss while cuddling on the couch watching movies with the little ones I was able to pin...) Love the pristine white pitchers displayed in the distressed cabinet, the pink/cranberry/white color scheme...I could never be that brave!

DECK THE HALLS FRIDAY - Christmas Bells

Welcome to Deck the Halls Friday!

I heard this week that there are only 11 weeks until Christmas! There is so much to do...

I have been pinning away, neglecting everything I am supposed to be doing, and came upon a fun set of vintage bells made from Christmas cards. Late last night I had to create my own.

Not perfected yet, but not bad considering I started this project at 10 o'clock at night.  The originals were crocheted, I did a simple blanket stitch using enbroidery floss.  The images I used were found on Pinterest

I think these are so sweet, reminds me of something that my aunt made back in the 70's.

Oh, how I love this time of year!  There are Halloween and Fall decorations everywhere and Christmas decorations are slowly starting to appear.  How cute are these snowmen I stumbled upon this week?  He will definitley be finding a place in my home!

Yes, it is early for Christmas but I can't help but get excited.  What do you think, is it too early for stores to begin stocking Christmas decorations?

DECK THE HALLS FRIDAY

Welcome to Deck the Halls Friday!

Wow, the little ones started school this week and this is the first time in 5 years that I have had "me" time...surprisingly I got nothing done.  Apologies for the late post, better late than never, right?

This week I want to share two things (1) my new 12" Ball Jar that I found at Target the other day (2) the Copper Wire lights I ordered for the shop came in and I LOVE THEM!

A closer look, I have two srands in the jar, one wrapped around the tree and the star lights coiled in the jar.  I will post all the details next week, all I can say is they are so much fun and I want to wrap everything in lights!

I pulled a couple things to try in my new jar and Kate (she's 4) decided she wanted to decorate.

When I told her she couldn't have any snow she cut up her own and made her own leaves.  Love her, she said, " Mommy, take a picture for your store".

Logan joined in...chicks?  What can I say he is 5, and very proud of his contribution.

DECK THE HALLS FRIDAY - Decking my walls???

WELCOME TO DECK THE HALLS FRIDAY!

Really, Friday already...it sure snuck up on me this week. Last day home alone with the little ones before they all go to school, bitter sweet. Needless to say Christmas hasn't been on my mind this week, or so that is what I thought...

Nothing suspicious here...just adding to the photo wall outside our bedroom

(ignore the missing trim in my arch and the old table...just a placeholder to see how many times I run into it at night before investing in a new one)

Nothing unusual, that is, until I went to bed and noticed that a Christmas tree had formed on my wall...

The grouping initially started with the large picture and then the 3 underneath.  The other day I added a photo of our cat that we lost last year and the doorknob hooks that now appears to be the base of a tree... Just goes to show even when I am not in "Christmas mode" subliminally I am!
