TEENA FLANNER

I had to take a much needed break from my holiday decorating to share with you my favorite pieces by Teena Flanner.

She is working with Bethany Lowe Designs to create wonderful new and reproduction pieces from her original works that are made using vintage candy and ice cream molds.

Each piece is made of paper pulp, hand painted and coated in a very fine sugar-like glitter. They are absolutely magical!

I chose my 3 favorite designs for my store this year.

He is the most wonderful vintage red color, I was so excited to unwrap him, the photo does not due him justice, he just looks yummy! I have a collection of bottlebrush trees so he was a MUST!

Jolly Santa is my favorite, my Grandma has a similar piece that she has had since she was young and when I saw this one I had to order him!

I fell in LOVE with this little guy! He carries a real pinecone on his back and is as sweet as can be. He looks perfect in a forest of bottlebrush trees!
All three piece are available for sale here: http://stores.ebay.com/tinselshop
Hope you had a wonderful Thanskgiving!

OH THE POSSIBILITIES...

First, let me apologize for the poor picture, no natural light and no overhead light in this corner of my hallway.

I LOVE feather trees and for the last few years I have been decorating one in this spot for Valentine's, Easter, 4th of July, Halloween, & Christmas. It sits bare for a few days between each holiday as I ponder and imagine what it should be. Each time it is different and many times it will take several forms before the given holiday arrives. I just can never leave it alone, each time I walk down the hallway I admire it, adjust an ornament, add a new one, have a new idea and start over. Perhaps, it is a sickness for which I will never recover...

Oh what will this become, only time will tell...be sure to check back and see!

Happy Holiday Decorating!

Best wishes,
Tammy

THANKSGIVING DECORATING

Here is a look at my chandelier. I am really happy how it turned out. I used the 9ft acorn garland (fit perfectly!) and tied the fall silhouette ornaments to each arm alternating orange and bronze.

Garland and ornaments are available in my ebay store: http://stores.ebay.com/tinselshop

Thanks to everyone for your orders!

Have fun decorating for Thanksgiving!

COOKIE TIME!!!

I wanted to share with you the "cookies" my mom has been making. They are actually wood cut-outs with puff paint (looks just like frosting when smoothed out) and deco/caviar beads sprinkled on top to look like candy sprinkles.

When given as gifts she will put them on a little glass plate covered in plastic wrap or in little clear bags tied with a bow. They are always a hit.

They look good enough to eat!

Now I'm really getting in the mood for Christmas!!!

Best wishes,

Tammy

THANKSGIVING OFFERINGS CONTINUED...

A few more items added to my eBay store. http://stores.ebay.com/tinselshop
Both are by Bethany Lowe Designs.
Have a look:

A charming garland by Bethany Lowe Designs. The photo does not due it justice! Each 4 1/2" letter is strung on a 7' strand of gold tinsel. Bronze glitter dusts the back and edge of each letter and the fronts of each is a vintage postcard image accented in clear glitter. Images include turkey, pilgrim children, an ear of corn, pumpkin cart and more.

Set of 4 pins by Bruce Elsass for Bethany Lowe Designs. So many things you can do with these! Each pin is a vintage postcard image dusted in clear glitter and sandwiched between 2 pieces of glass and framed with an antiqued tin border.

A wonderful hostess gift, wrap up a pumpkin pie in a flour sack dishtowel, tie with a ribbon and finish off with one of these delightful pins.

The leaves and turkey ornaments shown in pic are also available.

Have a wonderful weekend!

BEFORE & AFTER

Never being one to leave things as they are, I just couldn't use the store bought costumes without making them my own. Take a look...

BEFORE
This is the girls fairy costume, cute but I thought it could use a little something.

AFTER
I removed the velour green leaves at the shoulder and replaced them with a black sheer cap sleeve. Then I removed the gold trim at the top and replaced that with black ric-rac. My favorite part is the addition of the black velvet cats that I cut out and added to each of the petals. It doesn't show in this photo but I also added a black tutu underneath for a little extra poof! Kate tooting her own horn!

Logan's costume came with a cute foam mask but he wasn't crazy about wearing it. I removed the elastic string and attached it to a black crepe paper covered stick and embellished with a little bit of orange and black tissue festooning. He LOVED it!

A $1.00 plastic trick-or-treat pumpkin covered in layers of orange crepe paper and embellished with black glitter. The plastic handle was removed and replaced with a festive ribbon.

BELATED HALLOWEEN GREETINGS!

Hope you had a Happy Halloween, we sure did! I took a much needed break from all things Tinsel & Company to spend the day with my little ones. Here is a peek at our day.

Halloween morning the little goblins enter their pumpkin patch for their party.

The front yard was filled with 24 jack o' lantern beach balls to create a pumpkin patch and orange and black tissue paper festooning (love this stuff) hung inside the tent complete with a paper lantern moon with witch silhouette (too windy to catch the witch facing forward...) hanging in the center.

Logan having the time of his life!

Table decorations. Regretfully I never got a photo with all of the food. I love these hanging white hanging starbursts by Martha Stewart Crafts. More festooning wrapped around the the base of the pumpkin and used as hanging swag.

The chandelier decked out for the Halloween. The fabulous Dee Foust Halloween Crown worked perfectly in the center and yes that is more festooning acting as a garland.

Trick-or-Treat

Logan and Emma, Kate was being shy. It was a pretty amazing and exhausting day!
